Re: Whats cooking for the new year in january 2021?

Good evening everyone. And first off. Winifred sorry to here you haven't been feeling well. And that someone gave you a hard time. Most people on here are very nice but there are  few that don't deserve to be on here. Winifred you have always been super nice to everyone . I have been on here for 5 years. I'm sorry to here someone gave you a hard time. I have seen a couple posters that think there perfect.  Its been very cold down here and were getting a little snow tomorrow night and Wednesday. Today I made chicken Parmesan with penne pasta . I took sauce out of the freezer. It came out very good.I told  ria don't worry about it I Will cook. When she was done with work dinner was ready.hope everyone has a great week.

Re: Whats cooking for the new year in january 2021?

To @Winifred, It is distressing to learn that you have been treated unkindly on your posts. Can't understand what would bring someone to feel that it is ok to "hide behind" a computer & speak unkindly to someone. I am relatively new as a poster but have been reading on these forums for a long while. I thought it would be enjoyable connecting with "cyber" friends. I have learned so much & feel that my interactions have been nice. I was brought up that if you can't find something nice to say, don't say anything. This is also what I taught my children.

Hope you & everyone are able to have a good week ahead. Weather here is not good ... Predicting over 6" of snow & more along the Lake Michigan shore here in SE WI. So in a bit of a panic I stocked up at the grocery. Made spaghetti & meat sauce & salad tonite. Everyone stay safe & warm.

@Winifred, hope that you will feel stronger soon. Take care all! 🌈

@Winifred   I am so sorry that someone gave you a hard time. Some people on these forums are just so nasty and think they are all that. You have always been a very kind person and many people here respect you and wish you the best.

Re: Whats cooking for the new year in january 2021?

Thank you Betty and all for wishing me a happy birthday. Had some great ice cream and cake and that was appreciated. in fact ate a bit more last night. Thank you all again.

It is freezing here - no snow but the car and its windshield has had ice all over it for two mornings. Have not yet looked outside to check this morning. Still dark here. But I will.

We had some Hunt's baked beans, pickled beets and garlic bread for dinner last night. That stuff is always good.

Suppose to have a storm blowing in today. Shucks. Do not like those things.

Have a great day everyone and thank you all.

Happy belated birthday Winifred.  Ice cake for your birthday sounded wonderful. The past 2 years when ria asked what Kind of cake I want I said ice cream cake.

Re: Whats cooking for the new year in january 2021?

I was raised to always have some kind of ice cream with birthday cake.  Usually Ma picked up neopolitan ice cream so everyone could get a taste of what they liked.  I used to say, take the strawberry and give it to Anna (my eldest sister).  It's funny my eldest sister's kids are grown with kids of their own and they have cake for their kids yet no ice cream.  As the youngest daughter of three, I usually tell my middle sister on the way home from every brithday gathering... you know, the birthday was nice but no ice cream again - it's just not natural Woman Very Happy
