Re: What's the difference between cod and halibut?

Wagirl, I would kill to find cod at that price!!! Here in SW Florida, it's around 8-11 bucks a pound-and it's frozen..... I remember when it was on school menus when I was growing up because it was cheap.... Poodlepet

I find cod to be strong and fishy. Halibut is very mild and doesn't taste fishy. It's one of the few types of fish that I'll eat. Non-fish lover here.

Haddock is a favorite fish of mine. Very similar to cod, and halibut.

I'm a fish lover but I won't go anywhere near Codfish...not after my son told me about the Cod worm. Google it. Yuck!!!

Living in WA state, we have access to the best fish around. Cod is often on sale but the lovely halibut is rarely. I remember going to Pike Place market with my folks in the 70's and my mom buying halibut cheeks and fresh beets and thats what we would have for dinner that night. So delicious!!!
