Re: What's for dinner tonight?

Husband at the Royals' baseball game with friends. I stopped at Chipotle for a veggie bowl. Catching up on recorded shows over the past week. Good evening. Better if the Royals' win!

I'm trying a new recipe this evening. Mario Batali demonstrated Grilled Balsamic Portobello Mushrooms with Soft Polenta and Arugula Salad with Apples and Grapes on The Chew the other day that made me salivate.

Homemade chili, fritos red onions, and shredded cheddar cheese. Better known as frito pie. I have a beef stew in the crock pot for tomorrow. Cool and rain here.

Shrimp scampi with homemade marinara sauce on Lydia's (bastianich, from the cooking show ) pasta and Cupcake Pinot Grigio. DH is fixing it now. I make the sauce and freeze it in Ziplock bags.

Tonight's fare was Tequila Lime Chicken, Spanish rice and a garden salad dressed with an aged Balsamic vinaigrette. Oh, and a bottle of a good Zinfandel.

Re: What's for dinner tonight?

Dinner was lobsters on the grill with drawn butter, stuffed grilled mushroom caps, grilled zucchini baked potatoes with butter and sour cream with fresh chives, and for dessert I enjoyed home made banana trifle pudding.

Hubby would not listen when I playfully advised "don't eat anymore or you will be sorry"...Of course men know best, so his dessert was plop plop.... fizz fizz .....oh what a relief it is.

I almost felt guilty having my home made banana cream trifle pudding for desert, but oh it was so good!

Next time maybe he will listen, when I advise him to go easy on the chow.

Re: What's for dinner tonight?

I do meatless Fridays / light meals. Potato pancakes, eggs and apple sauce. Coffee and cookies for dessert.
