Re: What’s different about lock n lock?

I have used Lock n Lock for years.  I have all different colors and sizes and I love it.  I use them in drawers to organize and bathroom for makeup and other things.  For my kitchen I use the tall and medium size long type to store hamburgs, fish, and all small items in my freezer.  It's good for organization in there.  I use the sizes of round to store lettuce in the fridge.  I have my medication in one and all I have to do is pick it up and fill my Lug - pill box for the week.  I mix up Bisquick in a big one for pancakes.  AND I give them as gifts to my kids.  They are very reliable with some exceptions if a flap on a lid breaks, but that has only happened once to me.  The only negative is they stain when you use an acid type sauce.  But, what I do is, after you use the sauce stick the bowl in cold water and then put it in the dishwasher and usually it gets pretty clean.  OH, and I use them to store leftovers in the fridge.

Re: What’s different about lock n lock?

I still use the original set of Lock & Lock bowls for different things. I mostly use Anchor Hocking glass containers now with silicone lids. The great thing about L&L is that it’s leak proof and water tight. Great for putting things in coolers. Gave some to my son and wife for camping……they requested more!! I do love the glass L&L 9x13 pan with the plastic lid. Great to transport.

They are great for powdery stuff you don't want to turn into bricks!!!

Re: What’s different about lock n lock?

I hate trying to store the L&L and have often needed a spoon to pry the flap away from the lock to get the darned thing open. The glass containers seem to do much better for me. I bought the plastic ones because of the fridge in the other motorhome but no longer need to worry with that as much in this one.

@Othereeeen You forgot one thing Lock n Lock does -- the Happy Dance.  They were the originators of the Happy Dance and David just capitalized on it.  Now, it does everything.

ETA  Tahnks for that post -- made my day.

For over night in the fridge ( for me, single who cooks in batches) a sour cream container, a large yogurt container, a container ham came in (Hillshire Farms) works just fine...

I gave up on storing stuff in the freezer cause I like fresh meat, and no mystery meat!!  ( stuffed back in the freezer so far you don't find it for five years!!!!)  EVen Lock and Lock cant help with that!!!

I confess I fell for a gimmick!  But most stuff today IS gimmicks, so alas, we find out too late.

That's why our Mom's could make a whole Thanksgiving meal, from scratch, with a paring knife, a potato peeler, a carving knife and a box grater!!! And a few Pyrex pie plates and one measuring cup!!!

And a dinged up lovingly used aluminum roasting pan with the jiggly handles...and like my Mom had...ONE Farberware frying pan with a bakelite knobbed lid that she used for fifty years!!!!

You sound like my Mom. Bless you. Waste not want not My Moms saying.

Hands down, best comment I've ever read in any category in this qvc land forum.

Re: What’s different about lock n lock?

For me, the best part is with any lid, in any color, in any shape, in any size....when doing dishes (no dishwasher) I invariably get sprayed splashed soaked from water hitting the tabs no matter the angle. I need a wetsuit when doing LocknLock dishes 😤
