What's cooking in September?

Good evening everyone. I know I'm starting September a few hours early. Were already almost into September. Can't wait for Septembers cool weather. Yestauday Ria made macaroni and cheese and today we had company today that wanted to get food  from a pizza restaurant. So we ordered pizza, cheese burger Club, mozzarella sticks, fried ravioli, chicken salad sandwich and boneless buffalo chicken tenders. All was very good. Hope you all have a great month and Winifred hope your doing well.you were one of the first posters I talked to back 6 years ago. When I first came on this thread.

Re: What's cooking in September?

I have re-discovered "salsa verde".  Yum.  Made from tomatillos, with that okra-like finish; just lovely on pork.  Yum.  I want some right now!

Watching the dog curled up on the floor and happy that a heavy rain has subsided.  Life could not be better and I hope you, too, @Pooky1 , have a glorious September.

Re: What's cooking in September?

I had a bag of cut up cauliflower to use so last night I made cauliflower mac & cheese.  I didn't want a huge protein to go with it so I pulled some chicken sausage out of the freezer and warmed them. I bought the sausage at Costco last month, the brand is Sabatino's. They weren't bad. I still have several links so I want to try them in an Italian recipe.

Tonight it's breakfast for dinner:

*Bacon

*Eggs

*Keto waffles (chocolate chip for DH, blueberry for me) w/grass fed butter and friendly syrup

Re: What's cooking in September?

Rainy gloomy day here in FL but no "crisp Fall" air ☹️
so had the urge for "comfort foods" and a day of enjoying cooking.

Started with making fresh chicken orzo soup

Peppers finally on sale at good price -- made big pot of stuffed peppers for freezer

then spouse asked me since I was in the cooking mood if I'd make his favorite dessert.  French vanilla, coconut cream filling w/cream cheese icing.

Re: What's cooking in September?

While I was out today, I got a surprise text that our son and granddaughter are coming to visit tomorrow morning and staying for lunch. I grabbed a few ingredients and am making pulled pork in the slow cooker, as I type.  LOL, it won't be done cooking until 11PM, but that's ok. I just finished making broccoli-cauliflower salad, which will get nice and happy overnight. DH and I will be leaving for a couple of nights away and then eating out this weekend so I'm sending the leftovers home so DS and DIL can enjoy them.
