What's better than regular Cinnamon Rolls, try Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls YUM YUM

I made these a while back, thought I'd post the recipe.

Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls

1 packet active dry yeast

¼ c warm water (105*-115*)

½ c lukewarm milk (scalded then cooled)

¼ c sugar

½ t salt

1 egg

¼ c shortening

1/3 c cocoa

2 ¼ to 2 ½ c all purpose flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in the milk, sugar, salt, egg, shortening and 1 ¼ c flour and the cocoa. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.

Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Put in a greased bowl, cover and let double. Punch down and roll into a rectangle. Spread on some softened butter and sugar and cinnamon. Roll up the long side like a jelly roll. Cut into 12 slices using dental floss. Put into a greased 9 by 13 inch pan. Let double. Bake at 350* for 25-30 minutes. Brush with melted butter when they come out of the oven.

And here I thought you were going to say add chocolate chips to them. Which is what I was tempted to do with the batch I have rising now. But I didn't. So how were these made with cocoa powder? They must have tasted good. I've never had a chocolate yeast dough cinnamon roll. What did you use for frosting or topping?

It has been a while since I made them, but they were good. Chocolate and cinnamon.

Usually I just put the melted butter on top, and forget about the frosting.
