Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Just warming up food last night - my Fridge was brimming with food.  Still some left - hard to believe. Only bits and pieces now but do not want to toss any - will try and get the kids to eat it for lunch. Dinner? Have a pizza in the freezer - that will be a good dinner. So much cooking is finally getting to me - still want to eat well but the amount of cooking is a bit much for this old lady.

Very very cold here this morning. Brrrr. We had rain yesterday and more is expected on Christmas Day - not looking forward to that.

Am planning a Ham for Christmas Day - I love turkey but do not want to fix one - too much work. Ham is easy and go withs are also an easy choice - will work out fine. Am NOT planning to haul anyone anywhere on Christmas - and am praying like crazy that will hold. LOL.

Hope one and all have a good day.

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

No big cooking -  AGAIN - tonight. Still have a bit of food left in the Fridge but bought some Pizza Rolls for them to toss in the Oven. They love them so it will work fine - Me? Will find something - maybe even eat some of those pizza thingies. LOL. Also bought some beautiful broccoli. Yummy for sure.

Found a HUGE package of collards, already cut, at WM today. WOW!!! Will blanch them and bag them; in perhaps three bags - sure was a lot of them for a very good price. While there found some Christmas goodies for Conrad - nothing for the kitties. Boo Hoo. makes no sense to me. Also bought a lot of juice for Ricky -  he loves that and his Mom has cut way back on the milk - good for her!!

Hope all had a super good day. And of course hope all ate well. LOL.

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Morning all

Must share our dinner last night. We met Merl and Yock at a local resturant for a nice meal and a good visit. She occasionally stops by here and posts.

Always good to meet friends and enjoy their company. We talked and talked, then talked some more.

I finally made cookie dough yesterday and baked one batch. I was very disappointed in the recipe. BUT DH gobbled them down. So they aren't a total waste. Will try again with a tried and true recipe. Like those Dainty cookies, that makes a big bunch and always a hit.

Have to get ready for my last chiropractor treatment. I am so, so happy with the results. Worth every penny and every mile of driving.

Back later.

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

we did have a great time last night.  I think Merle and Nelson were talking to each other as much as Bev and I did.  Conversation just easily flowed through us and around us and before we knew it two hours had passed. The food was good too.   It was quite warm when we left the restaurant.   Freddie why do you think juice is better than milk.  I know there are milk allergies but juice brings sugars and tooth decay.  I guess you have to strike a balance.  Don't forget to pick me up on your way out of town, Bev

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Got 4 batches of eggnog started, ready to finish & bottle up for gift giving.  Also made 6 loaves of Ricotta Bread (much like Stollen) ready to wrap.

I think hot dogs for supper, too worn out to cook

Take Care
