@Pooky1   I know!  I am so jealous!  Apparently we Italians are a new thing down here and they just don't know what we need to survive.  I gave up pastina years ago too so that's two basic ingredients in my escarole soup down the drain.  I'd give anything for  a bowl of that right now.  I so miss my Italian neighborhood grocers.  Smiley Sad

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

Had $5 large pizza for dinner - bought two of them. Actually Aldi's has much better ones and certainly enormous ones for the very same price. I was so surprised when I first saw them but these were a lot closer - at 7-11 a few blocks away. Can't go wrong with that. We were happy.

Went to the meeting today to discuss the new Medicare insurance plans - hate doing that but it is a must as they have some major changes - ALWAYS - not just this time. And to think when I first came on board to SS I paid $56 a month for Medicare - that was in 1999 when I retired. Stayed that way for a spell but then some in the White House got greedy as they really messed SS up - it is now 100 per cent - plus - higher. . Boy Howdy did that fly away quickly. I feel strongly it is way too much to pay continue paying inflationary prices for our insurance while the increases in SS are next to nil - sometimes nil. what a rip off. Remember my parents NEVER complaining about the high increases -  and that is true, just did not happen with them.

Hope all had a great day.

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

Am planning to fix a boneless pork roast cushion in the slow cooker. As of now have no clue what the go withs will be. I must really be dumb as I have never seen the word cushion used with anything, much less a pork roast. Looks interesting. Got two in a family pack at Foods 4 Less - really like their meats. Went there to get a couple family packs of boneless roasts - they did not have one single roast - that is so weird to me. Also hard to find avocados. Hmn. Did hear about that possibility but was surprised about the beef roasts. This world is certainly going crazy it seems. Geesh.

Bev - how are you?!!!!!!!!!!!! Just want you to know you are missed.

Quite chilly this morning - should be about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday - that still makes it in the mid to high 80s today - if the forecast holds true. LOL.

Have a great day everyone!!!
