Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

And a good morning to you also Preds.

Had pork loin strips and chopped sweet onion with Paul Newman/s garlic/balsamic vinegar, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Very good. Easy to fix but what a mess the kitchen was. I am finding it more and more difficult to prepare meals and do the clean up. Others in this household that could help seem to feel they do enough. Yep, I clean up after them too. Am just getting very very tired. Oh well, what can I say.

Tonight. will check to see if I have some frozen dinners in the freeze - sounds like a good idea to me - here's hoping.

Hope everyone will have a great day and of course eat well.

Again, thanks Preds for your daily greetings.

@Winifred  I seem to use every pot and pan in the kitchen when I cook, lol, and must learn not to do that because, as you say, what a clean up!

Last night was salmon and salad, easy peasy, and only one pan. Smiley Happy

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Afternoon, @Winifred, that pork dinner sounds good, you have too much to do these days, here at my house the rule is "she who cooks does not clean up" works unless it's only me  lol

Still have some spaghetti sauce in the fridge so think pasta will be it for tonite (only me) & a fried chicken breast to go with.

Weather is much better today & should warm up by the week-end, so planting is on my to-do list

Hope all have a good day

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Spix, had to laugh at your remark. I grew up with that saying - from my Mother - and she was dead serious. Never questioned her, thank goodness as I got to live a few more years. Until the day she died and it was just she and Dad, she held to that and that old retired Army Bird Colonel did great kitchen KP. LOL. This generation, however, just shines you on or at least this part of it does. My other two grands and their kids would not be this way - they were born out here and raised here but moved to Kansas some years ago - their dad was transferred there to the Santa Fe Depot as they closed the RR station in our area. The middle grand and her multitude of descendants stayed here - they are completely different. Ahhhhhhhhhh for the good old days. I keep hinting about it and all I get is a lot of mouth saying I will not let them do anything. Not completely true as yes, they will NOT mess with anything until I show them the proper way to handle appliances, and everything else. Davey and his mother tear up everything. Shannon broke my 2 year old carpet cleaner????, my 2 year old pet vac is gasping now - she will NOT clean the filters, etc and is ruining it????? she bumps it into everything damaging other things, cabinets, etc?>???? and she does not get it. Perhaps she eventually will - she is only 43 and Davey is 15 but just like his Mother. Grrr.Of course neither is willing to listen to me.

Hope all had a great day - am having stuffed peppers again =- not objecting at all and will add Shannon is cooking them this time. Now if I can only get her to use my Teflon lined pots/pans correctly - she has ruined several due to excessie heat. Geesh.

@Winifred  You have a patience that I do not possess.

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Tonight, I fixed a ham, onion, and cheese omelet for DH with a salad. I got nibbling on the ham, so no omelet for me, lol.  The ham was left over from Easter and in the freezer, sliced by DH, as he has the patience and skill for that sort of thing, so all I had to do was thaw it and dice it.

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Afternoon all,

Sorry, been off the computer here for awhile. Hard to write, just not much cooking.

Did make a low carb Italian soup, with chicken broth, spinach, onion, garlic, and cream. Still have some left.

Finally getting some sun. Suppose to be beautiful next week. Trees are all in bloom, the one in backyard is buzzing with bees.

Had computer man here today. Had everything messed up and needed a new printer. Just so frustrated when things don't work.

Glad to see all of you here.

Wishing everyone the best.
