Re: What's Cooking in August

Had trouble finding thread last night so glad to see it back.  It is very chilly here this morning.  Feels great.

Re: What's Cooking in August

These boards seem to be more weird as time passes. Most of the fun has gone and now it has become work to try and have some fun and chat time. Sigh!!!

We have yet another fire - up in Big Bear near where my brother lives but he seems not too worried.  The forest has  become so vulnerable to fire due to the drought. What use to be a beautiful state has become ugly and unsafe due to that drought.

Preds I love your daily greetings. You sure find some good ones. How are things with you?

Yesterday was stinking hot - AGAIN!!!! This time of year and well into September is normally our hottest time of the year. Sure would be nice if the temps would drop again - you never know - perhaps it will as it has done that several times this month so far.

Had black eyed peas, cornbread and slaw Saturday night. Everyone was on their own last night - that was fair.

Hope all have a great day. Betty glad to see you are doing better. Hang in there. How is Merle?

Things are great in my neck of the woods.  No fires!  Suppose to be cooling off a little this week.  Glad you and the others enjoy the morning posts.  Some mornings I get distracted and "forget" to pop in over here.  I'm mainly in Community Chat.  Thinking about you all even when I don't wonder in. Smiley Happy  Wishing you and everyone a safe and happy week.

Re: What's Cooking in August

Preds finds some great greetings doesn't she Betty? Did you really look at the pix under today's where that silly looking dog has it's rear up on the sofa and head down on the floor - I cracked up when I saw that dog!!!

We had a humid day but it helped as NO SUN came out until about an hour ago. It helped not have that big ball of heat up in the sky. Now it is really miserable and of course the electric company sends me a save electricity notice for tomorrow. I figure it must be going to be hotter than you know what. We had a couple super nice days and of course NO SAVE notices for those days. They know what they are doing - sure makes it miserable however.

We had collards, potatoes and cubed steak swimming in gravy for dinner last night. I had my meat and gravy on bread - boy howdy, it sure was good!!!!!! Hardly anything left - certainly not enough for any meal. Will eat it for lunch tomorrow perhaps. I love that gravy.

Hope all had

Re: What's Cooking in August

Strange boards! When I logged in and click our posts it sent me to page 2? Not 1 or 10 but number 2.

Did not cook much yesterday. We had a late lunch here at home then out for dinner after a Wal-Mart run. Groceries are getting so high. Eggs took a jump in price.

Have Mahjong here today so will need to make some snacks. I would like to make Brucetta. And making Corn Dog Muffins. They  use cornbread mix from Jiffy, drop in small muffin tins. Then add a slice of hot dog. DH will love them if the gals don't eat them.

Okay, must get hopping. Best to all, enjoy this day.
