Re: What's Cooking in April (no fooling)

Yesterday had a great Italian Lunch at the Church that has the greatest lunches each month for oldsters. I do not attend church there but try hard not to miss any. I was stuffed so took those in the house over to Abby's for them to eat something. Easy way out for this old lady.

We continue to have gusting winds, yesterday it got really windy in the afternoon but was not cold. Kitties were out in their condo as it was nice enough for them. Both stayed in their comfy sleeping "bags". One has a cushioned round thing, she loves it. The other has one with a hole in the side - and yes it is toasty also - and she does not move from there. Still trying to find homes for them as it is getting way too much. These kitties are not mine - belonged to the kids but no one but me takes care of them or anything else. I feel if they truly wanted them they would take care of them. Oh well. Their shots are up to day - always do that and both are chipped. I have them set up pretty good for adoption but so far having trouble placing them in the places they get adopted from. Set it all up and then get a phone call, sorry, not now. Geesh.

Hope all have a good day.

Re: What's Cooking in April (no fooling)

Had a roast in the slow cooker with carrots and a sweet onion - best way to fix them in my opinion. Had mashed taters and brussel sprouts as sides - very very good.

Busy and stressful day ahead.

Hope all are well - Soushi continue to think of you dear friend.

Re: What's Cooking in April (no fooling)

Boo Hoo - where on earth has everyone gone! Getting a tad lonesome here. Surely someone is eating besides me>

Did no big cooking last night - I just was tired. Had plenty of leftovers in the Fridge, i.e. Roast, carrots, potatoes, etc so we ate well. Still have more left over - I think sometimes I cook too much at one time but have always liked to cook enough for two meals - just makes it easy. The trick, however, is having the food for another meal - that teenage boy living here is a master of sneaking food at nighttime. LOL.

Hope all have a great day - eat well.

Re: What's Cooking in April (no fooling)

Hi  All,

Just a quick stop. Everyone has been raving about this recipe. I didn't get to try it, all gone, when I got there.

Excellent Red Jello

To make a single batch use

one 3 oz. box of raspberry Jello dissolved with one cup boiling water.

While warm add one can whole berry cranberries, break up into jello.

When cooler, add one small can crushed pineapple (with juice) and diced apples.

Re: What's Cooking in April (no fooling)

Preds, the greeting is adorable.

Soushi, glad to see you and will try that jello for sure.

Had wanted to stay in bed a bit longer but my four legged critters had other ideas - especially Conrad. He wanted his 4 a.m. outside morning romp. What can I say - I was the one who started him with that. LOL.

Dinner tonight? Not real sure but suspect it will be a veggie dinner. I like them and so does everyone else so that may just be the ticket. When I decide will return to let you all know.

OK, people, once again, come on back here and visit for a spell. Miss you all.
