Re: What's Cooking for March 2020

@Winifred  yes no dr. ed in school I had to pay dr. ed for DD years ago not cheap. One accident & the ins. went up so fast well that was yrs ago think she learned. Here in Az. rain & rain but can't complain we need every drop knowing long hot summer is around the corner. Had some gum surgery it's 2 weeks of soft food but glad to get it done, no pain or anything just getting clever figuring out but when this is over I am ready to eat. This virus is something, my grocery store is half empty with shoppers, think either the rain or the virus scares people. Even traffic is less. WOW I have to reorganize my freezer I know I could live a good month without going to grocery store but need some fresh fruit & veggies if I have too. I should do it now and clear it all out. Got huggies wipes incase no toilet paper plus have stocked up on the paper products hope all of you are thinking. Can't find hand sanitizer but got alcohol & will mix it with hand cream if it comes down to this. Been threw bird flu, swine flu but seems this is more of a problem but we have good medical care than most countries,

Re: What's Cooking for March 2020

For a little over one week now cannot buy ANY disinfectant wipes or hand cleaner Give me a break. Toilet paper running low in a lot of stores and the problem I ran into yesterday was just trying to find a place to park my car. What a nightmare. Why all the stores let people binge buy I will never know. And so many are doing it to sell what they bought at horrible prices. What is wrong with people. I use disinfectant wipes - always have - now cannot get any. The hand sanitizer is something I have used for years - no where to be found. What a racket.

Will not buy many things, water for example. Why are the idiots buying all that up. We all have running water in our homes. Grrrr.

Am eating well although it gets harder and harder to cook anything. I am in no pain, just complete exhaustion - really miserable.  Did make a big pot of black eyed peas day before yesterday - almost all gone - love those things. Also made some cornbread as a go with - nothing better than that. Now will try and come up with something easy for tonight - lots of ideas but just to get it done will be the project for the day. LOL

Have a great day everyone.

@Winifred, your black eyed peas sound just delicious! When we're traveling though NC we will often stop in at a great little restaurant just for their farm fresh, homemade veggies.

Re: What's Cooking for March 2020

LifeIsGood, where in NC is that restaurant? I was born and raised in that great State. Left in my entry into high school - my Dad was in the Army - fought in WWII, then taught at NC State and then wanted back in the Army - so he did just that!

Nothing better than Black Eyed Peas - so very yummy. Of course we always ate them on New Year's Day and other times also. Always with cornbread - did not need anything else really

Very cold here in Sou Cal - will be crashing pretty soon - go to bed much earlier than I use to but then my age and health are now controlling those things.

Hope all had a great day.
