I have a drawer full of gadgets and I don't use any of them. The only one I ever reach for is the Deni meat tenderizer, and even that's seldom because I rarely cook meat that needs tenderizing.

Tid-ee Egg. It's just a little plastic thing with tiny little plastic teeth and you can grasp the white thing and pull it out. I got mine on Amazon...got a spare, too. ![]()
It couldn't be more handy! Takes a hot second to wash and I just set it in my kitchen window to dry and then put it away again in a drawer close by.

I also use the WP little rice cooker constantly – but it is not really a gadget.
I second the Kuhn Rikon Pull Chop. I have the 4-cup size, and I pull that thing out for all kinds of things--always for chopped celery, chopped onions, chopped nuts, eggs for egg salad, etc. I was cooking something that required diced canned tomatoes and I had only whole--Pull Chop to the rescue. A couple of pulls and I had my diced tomatoes, with much less mess than doing it with a knife.
Curiously, my Pampered Chef microwave rice cooker is another thing I love and use regularly.

Totally agree on Chris' apple peeler. Have to be gentle with it because it's plastic but does a great and easy job. Bought a 2nd one to have on hand in case the first one ever breaks. Super great for the money.

I have two....1) My Zing Meat Chopper. It breaks up hamburger or sausage in a jiffy when browning it in a skillet. 2) Swingaway Jar Opener. This is a lifesave to open jars of pickles, salsa, olives, etc......

Since I have guinea pigs of my own, and I also foster for a rescue, I go through many green peppers. Peppers are a staple in the diet of guinea pigs because like humans, guinea pigs cannot make their own Vitamin C and peppers are very high in C.
I found a handy little gadget called a Pepper De-corer that works perfectly for getting out that pesky core and all those tiny little seeds. It might seem like a unnecessary item but when you prepare many peppers a day it makes the job much easier.
I saw the de-corer on the tv show "The Kitchen" when they did a segment on gadgets.
I remember the "Iron Chef" used it and said it worked fine but he probably wouldn't buy it.
I'm glad I purchased it and didn't listen to him because it's now one of my most useful gadgets.
