Oh thank you! I'm so glad you like them, hc! I just love the delicacy and colors! In the last several years we've moved more into the Polish stoneware designs, as they seem to work better with our current dining room, but I still have a special place in my heart and home for the Chelsea Garden!

My wedding china was similar. I'm going to see if I can find it to post. It was expensive and we only collected three settings - I can't even say what happened to it. I think it was a casualty of one of our moves.

Oops. I found it and I guess it's not really similar in pattern, just in the overall feel of it.

Ooh--that's really pretty, too! And it does have a very similar vibe--the fluted edge, the delicate flowers, the soft pastel colors! It reminds me a bit of Limoges--so lovely! I love that you have your tea or coffee in style--doesn't it always taste better in a pretty cup?! When I was studying to be a school marm, my professor wrote about my carefully lettered Kiddie Lit reference cards, "Art is truly a way of living." I always remembered that, and I believe it!

Yes, LoopyLoo, that's for sure. I refuse to be like my mother in that regard. She saved everything - clothes, lingerie, linens, china.. you name it, everything was being saved for a special occasion. When we had to move her from NY to CA we gave away or sold almost everything. She has no interest in any of it now, and she never used it all those years. That's so sad.

I know what you mean, hc--I wonder if it had something to do with growing up or being a young person during the Depression era. My mom was a great saver too--"save it for tomorrow" was one of her many pet expressions. So--in their honor, we won't 'save it for good', but we'll clink china cups and toast those two terrific ladies! When I have my tea tomorrow, I'll think of you!

We have a wonderful gift and food shop in our town. My favorite is chicken salad on a croissant and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. They serve the food on pretty square plates.

After I finish eating, I like to sit in their huge soft leather chairs and read a magazine.
