This post is not meant to start a Temp-tations bash, but I did want to address some of the things said on air, during Temp-tations presentations, that tend to be misleading or confusing.

I realize that these presentations are scripted, but we hear the same things over and over, and some if it isn't quite true or accurate.

Oftentimes a host will say, "Temp-tations is only available here at QVC". They aren't saying this set, or this configuration, they are saying the TT product. TT is now available on the TT website, at kiosks in some malls, and at QVC outlets stores. While I don't expect Q to advertise for the TT site, they should stop claiming that it is a line exclusive to Q.

I was rewatching the video presentation for the verona pumpkin bakers, and the host made mention that this was the only figural pumpkin TT had ever done, and Tara agreed quickly. This was not accurate. There were a set of pumpkins out several years ago. My point is that by saying something is the "only" "ever", it prods people to buy now, because they may never see another pumpkin, when in fact, there have been more, and may be more on down the line. I'm sure that a vendor is not going to argue with a host and hesitates to correct one too often, but it does seem disingenuous. I have seen similar claims about other sets/patterns or colors in the past.

Then there is the ongoing "no added fats, butters, or oils needed. Nothing sticks to the TT pan". Facebook and this forum have many people post their surprise and confusion when things do stick. Sometimes Tara replaces the above phrase with something like "do what your recipe calls for in the area of spraying or preparing the pan". That seems to be the correct answer, so I wish they would drop that first line, as it only gets customers frustrated when it doesn't always work.

There is also the problem of preheat the oven or don't. Some of her recipes and literature say preheat, and some say to bring oven and dish to temp together. There is also the ongoing confusion about can you really take TT out of the fridge or freezer and put it directly into the oven. Best answer is don't expose to extreme temperature changes, but make that process more clear on the air, not just in literature.

I suppose Tara and the Temp-tations company is doing very well without my input, but I think that those long time collectors like myself, would like to see less scripted presentations, better accuracy with the facts and use instructions, and to, in general, freshen up the presentations somehow. A good company is always looking for ways to improve their product and processes, and these were just a couple of things I have noticed. I have tons of Temp-tations, and while I have had my problems with quality at times, I use and enjoy them everyday, and consider my self a big fan of the product.
