For the whole time I've been reading this thread, I've been sitting here saying aloud , "PEAcon, pehCON, PEAcan, pehCAN", etc. I have come to the conclusion that I have no idea how I normally say it!

Interesting because I was watching Hell's Kitchen I think it was, and I swear Gordon Ramsey said PEAcan!! But this season is filmed in Connecticut, so maybe he was going with the local pronunciation. ![]()

I live near Baton Rouge, LA and we have several Pa-Conn trees in our yard. Not Pee-Can!!

That's how I've always said it. I grew up in Southern Ohio. I now live in central Indiana and it's said here Pea Cans.
