I bought a quarter of a watermelon at Walmart Grocery yesterday.  It was nice and red, juicy looking.

When I cut it last night for hubby and I I could hardly get the knife through the rind.

When we ate it the fleshy part was tough.  Never have I had a tough watermelon until last night.  It was hard to get a bite cut with a fork.

Weird.

We also bought a 1/2 of a juicy red watermelon 🍉-

absolutely no taste, even with salt on it.

We haven’t had a great watermelon this year either.I wonder if the weather has something to do with it.I have forced myself to eat a couple of duds and haven’t purchased any since. The cantaloupes have been good though.

I love watermelon and practically live on it in the summer but the last 2 years it has been awful for them.  This year I have found some that were good but can find no seedless ones.  About 6 years ago I never got a bad one.  I went through 2 - 3 a week just by myself.

We stayed at a B&B in the Berkshires a few weeks ago. They served a lot of fruit for breakfast. I’m not a big fan of watermelon, but had some. It was so delicious I couldn’t believe it. If I remember correctly it was seedless. It was tender and sweet.

I worked in a supermarket and they only cut the older melons and ones that were bruised or blemished.

The watermelon I have picked up from Wal-Mart are not quite ripe.

I have been buying them at Aldi with no problems.

Just picked up 2 seedless watermleons yesterday. YUM!!! I eat it every day.
