Water Filter purchase

Looking to purchase the best water filter pitcher, if one exists. If not, need the best (and simple, if poss) water filter system, and where it was purchased, if you can. Have read some previous threads, and there are some very valid and interesting points made--these were about a year or so ago, so wanted to try and get some fresh viewpoints. Mima said in her area, nitrates are a very serious issue. If you can find it, it is worth reading, as well as some others (so sorry, but do not know how to direct link). If someone does find some of these posts, and can direct link, it would be helpful for many. Thank you!
