Re: Wasn't Chef Todd English on HSN?

Yes, he was on HSN. I purchased some of his line, and save your money!

Re: Wasn't Chef Todd English on HSN?

I watched a little bit of it this morning and he looked really strange to me. He was very stiff and looked even creepier than normal. But what made me change the channel (aside from his cheap looking cookware) was that strange, almost diabolical laugh. After each thing he, or one of the others, said he has this odd laugh - uhhahahahaha.

For some reason they didn't show any close ups during the whole time I was watching. He had Daniel Green with him. Now, THAT is a pleasant man to watch and listen to, conversely.

Oh darn. I ordered his ceramic cookware. I hope it isn't just junk. It looks nice, but now I am having second thoughts. Looking at reviews I could not find this particular set, it is brand new and no reviews show up. Oh well, it is only $150 or so and if it is junk, I will just return it. I need a new set so bad that it is worth the chance. I will up date and let you all know what happens. Wish me luck.

I don't think his cookware looks cheap. Those green pans he sold on HSN were cheap. Todd seems uncomfortable talking and taking calls. As I remember, he acts the same as he did before he teamed up with Joy. He never had to talk with her. Todd never was Mr. Personality.

I saw him yesterday on Evine. Always enjoy watching him, he seems like a fun guy.

Re: Wasn't Chef Todd English on HSN?

I am tempted to buy the pans because many years ago I bought a 12 piece place setting set of his dishes on HSN and after 10 years they are still the best dishes I have ever owned. Only ONE is chipped and we use them several times a day. They go through the dishwasher and into the oven and still look exactly like they did when new. I actually use the dinner plates to cut on sometimes when my cutting board is dirty and there are no cut marks on the dishes. Many times I've wanted to redecorate and get new dishes but I cant imagine finding any that will last like the ones I got from him. Its the only purchase with his name on but for me it was an excellent purchase.

I have been using his Elite copper-fused pans for years. These are the pretty copper colored pans, not the regular green pans. They are fabulous and gorgeous. Never had a problem with them and they still perform beautifully. I think there must be a big difference between the two.

I don't need new cookware but I think it looks nice. Yes it is aluminum but it's not priced to be higher end. Most of the cookware sold on QVC looks far cheaper to me. Since it's a launch there aren't any reviews so I will be curious to hear what you and others think. Although they are all probably fine in the first 30 days. The question is, how good are they 6 months or a year later?

Re: Wasn't Chef Todd English on HSN?

I bought two different sets of his cookware years ago before he changed to green pans. Those sets have been wonderful workhorses and still look as good as new. So if today's set is his old-style cookware, I would recommend it. Green pans were trash.

Re: Wasn't Chef Todd English on HSN?

I read so many reviews of his green pans and everybody said it was junk and they threw it in the garbage. Of course I read all of these reviews after I ordered this set. But porcelain in other brands had good reviews so we will see???
