Re: WHATS COOKING iN THIS MONTH OF APRIL?

I can't remember the last time we had a good salad, and we've missed it.  That changes today.  Lunch is a weird combo but that's ok.

Fresh Tossed Salad w/Italian Dressing

Hard Cooked Egg

Low Carb Mozzarella Sticks w/Sauce

Chobani Zero Sugar Yogurt w/Fresh Mixed Berries

I'd like your recipe for ribs and kraut, please!

I put the ribs in the slow cooker with the baby reds quartered and the sauerkraut. I add some white wine and a bay leaf.

I'm sure it sounds weird to most, but we enjoy it.

We had a late lunch of pizza and zucchini.  Leftovers for tomorrow.  I got the sweetest strawberries yesterday.  A little cool whip on top!

Re: WHATS COOKING iN THIS MONTH OF APRIL?

We had a local painter come over yesterday to give us a quote on doing our living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, two hallways - walls and ceilings.  DH has always painted, but he's done with that now and said we'd hire.  We had no clue what the going rate is.  We told the guy we'd buy our own paint.  He quoted $1500 for the job - 2 coats everywhere and it would take two days.  That seemed reasonable to us.  He's been in business for 15+ years and showed us pictures of his work.  I also had a reference from a friend about him.

I had plans to cook today but those plans changed.  We have something to do later this morning so we're just going to get something while we're out.

I have flank steaks thawing and will put them in a marinade around noon or so.  DS and the kids are coming over.  I'm making fajitas with all the trimmings, pork skins with guacamole and salsa.  The kids can try that or they can have ol' reliable - a cheese quesadilla or frozen Stouffers mac & cheese.

My girls and I enjoyed Texas Steakhouse; last meal of our 3 day birthday celebration.  It's been a very nice weekend.
