W. Puck Versa Cooker Question

I hope someone can help me....I bought the versa cooker (from Canada shopping channel) and while watching the presentation, they showed how you could fry in it. They were frying chicken and I thought that was great but when I opened the little book that came with it, it says DO NOT FRY. We hardly ever eat fried foods but I wanted to fry some chicken or fries occasionally as a treat so I'm now confused. Why would they show this being done, then the book says not to fry in it!!! Thanks so much in advance.
