@Big Sherm Many years ago I bought a reconditioned one from Vitamix directly at their website.  It was perfect--no problems at all, and cheaper with a longer warranty.

We did the same thing, and it's still going strong.

@Big Sherm  Vitamix has reconditioned 7500 for $249.95 on their website. I have the 7500 and that is an excellent price.

@loriqvc Sometimes you get a longer warranty from Vitamix site.  Check prices before you buy if that's an issue for you. It's always an issue with me!

The Big Deal offer on the Vitamix 16-in-1 Explorian Speed Blender offered today is a really good offer.  You also get the Dry Container (which is about $150 on the Vitamix website).  You also get two books with it - one for blending and the other for grains.  Well worth it.

@Big Sherm, I see QVC has a Vitamix as a Bid Deal today for $289.xx.  I don't know the differences between the models and only saw like 1 minute of the presentation since they moved on right after I turned it on.
