Interesting that David Wolfe is on HSN with the Nutribullet today as well. They have this newer Rx machine that is to compete more directly with Vitamix at half the price. But really it is not comparable at all. They make it sound good but in reality it does not work well, it is not well built, the warranty is poor and it does not do much that the Vitamix can do. I have a Nutribullet that was under $100, but it is not worth investing $200 in a machine that will not hold up. At this point the Vitamix is a much better investment. There are some interesting comparison videos on You Tube that make it so clear the huge short comings of the Rx.

I bought the Nutribullet PRO when it came out last holiday season. It's a piece of junk. I would NEVER buy from him again. I'm going with Vitamix next time.

Obviously enough people purchase them to justify QVC's continued promotion. Despite the half dozen or so complaints that appear on these boards whenever the Vitamix is a TSV or a featured item, tens of thousands of people buy these $400 blenders. QVC would be foolish not to continue heavily promoting them.

Remember: QVC is in business to make money -- not alleviate our boredom.

Good post!

If you go to Vitamix website they have better deals on reconditioned model with the same warranry.

I love my Vitamix. I use it several times a day. I use it to make my own frappaccino, smoothies, soups...I used to " rice" cauliflower for the flourless pizza recipe. This year I plan to start making my own homemade fruit vinaigrette for my salads (blueberry, cherry, strawberry). I have tried other cheaper blenders and never found one that compares to the Vitamix. Several people in my family have the Vitamix and we all love it. Truly one of my best purchases ever from QVC.

ITA, I bought my 5200 model at the Home and Garden Show. Great cookbooks, warranty, and I got the dry container for free. I gave away my Ninja blender. I'm trying to give away my old Oster, but no one wants it!

It's worth the money only if you USE it. Now, IMO-spending a gazillion dollars on a Dyson vacuum is crazy talk!

Lacey-hold onto that Ninja! I love my Vitamix, but it doesn't make "snow" the way the Ninja does ( no water needed), and call me lazy, but I do love my Ninja for quick chopping stuff-even mixing cake mixes.....it is dishwasher safe......just sayin'.... Poodlepet2

I hear ya Poodle about putting the Ninja in the dishwasher, but I have yet to ever need, 'snow'. The Vitamix does not replace every appliance that they claim. I use my food processor for hummus, mayonnaise, etc. because the FP is easier to clean. The Ninja wasn't bad but for my hard-core smoothies-the Vitamix gets those tough ingredients silky smooth.

Lackey, think about when it's 95 degrees- yes, you will want snow! The Vitamix does a fantastic job of making frozen drinks, but I am a fan on snow cones: they are my childhood revisited!....and once again, call me lazy, but I have used the Ninja to whip up salad dressing. Poodlepet2

Apparently lots and lots of buyers can afford $400 blenders. QVC sells thousands of them every time they air a TSV.

QVC is by no means the only retailer selling them - I've stood in a group and watched a demo at my local Costco more than once and I've seen Vitamixes walk out of there those days as well as on days when there were no demos.

I even think I know why they show them over and over: Every time I see one, I want one! That is a totally ridiculous want. I have no convenient place to put one on my counter, I do not have enough strength in my right hand to easily life one into place every day so I could use it - and I absolutely have no need for one.

Still - when I saw there was a TSV today _ I had to look. Just had to even though I know, for me, buying one would be absurd.
