I am wanting to purchase. Which do you all prefer?

I have both and the Blendtec is good but the Vitamix is much better. I will admit that my Blendtec is an older version but it never liquefied like the Vitamix. Maybe the newer versions have improved. I love, love, love the Vitamix.

I love my Blendtec. I had a Vitamix and returned it immediately. I did not like the shape of the jar, you had to use that plunger, too many steps. The Blendtec has a nice 4 sided jar, super easy to clean. I only use it for smoothies and no matter what I put in, it is as smooth as velvet. I also like the options, i.e., juice, smoothies, etc. Once the time is up on the timer it stops automatically and it is perfect every time.

Another vote for Vitamix here!

I have a Vitamix and really like it, but I have friends who really like the Ninja and it costs a lot less. I also noticed that one of the cooking shows (cannot remember which one) has switched from Vitamix to Ninja, even though the Ninja that was being used on it was not one that I have seen in stores (or at least I don't think it is). I would look at reviews online.

There really is no comparison. Get the vitamix. I have had mine going on 37 years now. No problems what so ever. Yes they are expensive, but they last forever.

Thanks ladies! There is a vitamix tsv Jan 11th. Now What do you think about variable speed or presets.

I've had both, but the Blendtec was years ago so I imagine it wouldn't be a fair comparison. The vitamix is better for me. I'd love a scraper container like the blendtec has now.
We used to have a comparison poster, not sure where she went. She liked the Blentec better.

Sherbear1....There is a vitamix page on facebook called vitamix Enthusiasts run by a lady named Lea Ann Anderson Savage. She is a vitamix demonstrator and has some really good deals on them from time to time and can answer any questions you may have. You might check that out. I just got one for my son at almost halft the price. As to variable speed and pre set, I would definately go with variable.
