I don't use a blender that much and don't eat cream soups, so it's a non-iissue, for me but really, I don't get the idea of using a blender to cook your soup.  The pros cook the soup and and then stick it in the blender to cream it.

I'm the first person to HATE loud noises, but I never quite got the draw for this.    Maybe, like IceGoddess, I don't use it for long enough periods for it to be an issue.   I figure if I needed to crank up the Vitamix for an extended period I'd probably leave the room for a while.
