Puck's blender just came out this year so it has not been around decades BUT it backs the brand up with a three year warranty --- much longer than other brands (some of which may be American made).

If products such as Puck's are being made at a much lower cost -- the big chains will switch for much less cost -- its a matter of business. To be honest, I don't intend to use my blender as continually as a Starbucks and don't need to spend all that money. In my kitchen, I don't need to charge $4 a coffee to cover the cost of my blender.

But Jax the decision is yours. HSN provides a valid comparison on a cost/performance basis.
