Can anyone recommend one.  I had a Kyocera ceramic peeler that I really liked.  When it broke, I replaced it with  the same.  It just wasn't the same.  Recommendations, please.

*Found it!  Go to website listed below, click on Kitchen, then go underTools &Gadgets and click on Peelers, Graters & Slicers.  Comes in the set for only $15.99

Yes, yes, yes!  I found this one at a restaurant supply store and could not believe how well it worked. You wouldn't think there could be such a difference, but this one glides easily with little or no pressure, so very little waste.
My daughter used it when she was here and immediately asked, Where did you get this?!?  Both of us have given them as gifts that were greatly appreciated. I keep extra ones in my drawer.  Had it for years and it still works as good as the day I got it.
The paring knife is also awesome, love it.

TBrand is Victorinox (Swiss Army) Sorry for bad picture!

I have had several.  The traditional one, by far outlasted everything!

I've had an OXO swivel peeler for years now and it still works as well as when I first bought it.  I especially like that it has a guard over the blade to protect your fingers.

It's difficult to say whether any brand would be the same now but, if you bought it from somewhere like Kohl's, BB&B or Walmart, if it didn't work for you, it could be returned.

Sorry, but am glad they are still making them!

@coffee drinker - I love the peelers made by Kuhn Rikon—whether you're a fan of the swivel or Y design, the quality and performance is great. You can get them here at QVC, on the Kuhn Rikon website, from Amazon, or at a wide variety of kitchen stores and online retailers. Hope you find something a-peeling to you with all the suggestions in this thread...  Smiley Wink

I tried and have several but the OXO is the only one I can use after 2 severe hand breaks a d still not able to make a fist with my right hand.  I used the OXO exclusiverly even before that.

I love my Rada vegetable peeler.  I have two of them.  I purchased them at a Myrtle Beach flea market, but I do see them available on Amazon.  Best peeler I ever used.  Under $11.  In my 1-2 top kitchen purchases ever.  Rada is stainless steel.  I see It is also an Amazon’s choice product.  I bought one, then bought another the next year.

@coffee drinker  A new peeler is always going to feel awkward at first until you break it in. It gradually becomes honed to your hand and pressure. I have no idea how it does it, but it does. Like @ECBG , I use the cheapo peeler and can go through a bag of russet potatoes in no time. I also have arthritis in my hands, but my peeler goes easy on me.
