Re: Tupperware is going belly up

Tupperware is so much better than Lock n Lock.   LNL is not worth a hoot in my opinion,  It's certainly not air tight, I found that out with their ceral containers.

Re: Tupperware is going belly up

@RedTop   Oh my, funny, I have a 3 piece Tupperware set my grandma bought for my hope chest in the mid 70’s.  Orange and yellow.  I dont use them a lot, but every time I want to purge them, I just can’t get myself to toss them.  I have very few things from her.  I do have a pink glass serving plate, I can’t toss from her either.

I doubt she bought them, she used to sew, and traded/bargained with other woman, many did that.  Made pot holders and quilts, pillows, pillowcases, etc.  I have wonderful memories of her.

Re: Tupperware is going belly up

The last Tupperware I bought was from a friend's "online party".  Instead of a in person party it was online and you had a few days to decide.  The main reason I bought something was because I did not want to hurt my friends feelings.  But I hate to hear of a company that used to be so popular having troubles.  Sad.

Re: Tupperware is going belly up

A lot of old school, last century products are going by the wayside because today's tastes, cooking methods and the ways we eat have changed so much.

I got rid of tupperware long ago.  The lids warp, and it is odd shapes that are hard to store in my always pretty full fridge.  I went to glass containers and more rectangular shapes.  We do still use some divided trays we've had from Tupperware from the 1980's.

Re: Tupperware is going belly up

A Tupperware Business Leader shared this last night...

"For all of my family, friends and valuable customers, TUPPERWARE IS NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS.

We received a communication from the CEO of the Company stating that information was twisted and misinterpreted. Yes, stocks were down the past few days, but so was the whole Market. Tupperware is down 18% in Salesforce.

Many of the younger generations use Tupperware as a blanket name for all plastic ware. Those of us who use it, know it's not all the same. Many people do not understand that Tupperware is a brand. Tupperware is celebrating it's 77th birthday in May. It will be around for many, many more.

The best thing you can do to help through this little hiccup is to schedule a party, whether it be online or in person. Become a Tupperware Consultant yourself and help increase that Salesforce.

We need to educate our younger generations about the Brand of Tupperware. Tupperware is not just a product. Tupperware is an emotion. I'm sure everyone can share a story or memory about Tupperware with their grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts and mothers.

Let's create those new feelings in our younger generations so they too can get that Tupperware feeling."

Again thank you for your continued support ❣️

Not surprised. I bought some last year at Target and returned them. Quality went downhill. I could not get the lids on them no matter how hard I tried. I even sat on one and the lid did not fit. Fortunately they were empty when I was trying. I can't imaging putting lids on them full of food. I'll stick with my Rubbermaid.

If you can't get the lids on, run them under hot water for only a few seconds and they'll go right on!

Re: Tupperware is going belly up

Just read this article about Tupperware this morning. One reason they are failing is their marketing approach. Are they really still depending upon parties to sell their products? No wonder they are dying. The company is blaming the younger consumers who prefer other material for food storage like glass. I think L& L has given the, competition they can defeat.

Re: Tupperware is going belly up

I went online this morning and placed a order for Tupperware. I also like them better than LocknLock. Hubby takes one of the Crystalware for lunch that is microwavable with stainguard. Cleans up very nice.
