Re: Trader Joe's Christmas Presents...

LYNNEUK: Those three Olive oils in a box are so good, with the different flavors. I got them twice last year because it was the only time I could find them. They go fast, good luck. There is another store in my area that sells specialty food all year, but outrageous prices. TJ has better prices than the Safeway in my area. Love the Ginger cookies and the Joe Joe,s. Also the sipping chocolate. I am just me, so I do a month's shopping at a time. Come out with Moe bags of course than a month,s shopping at Safeway and at least half the price. Most of my friends don,t know how to shop there, they have no kid left at home, but so use to traditional grocery stores. Their milk is cheaper anywhere from .50 cents to a dollar. I use cream in my coffee and Walgreen,s charges 1'79 pint with a pull date 4 days away, TJ ·99 ·

Re: Trader Joe's Christmas Presents...

Does anyone know if the salted caramels come in milk chocolate? I know, I know, a very specific request and question!

I love loads of TJ's products. I was bummed this year that their Gingerbread House kits sold out so fast. I can't find them anywhere. I was late looking for them this year. I used to make my houses from scratch when my kids were small. But in recent years I've been purchasing the TJs ones.

Now, we are house-less. {#emotions_dlg.scared}

You're all tempting me to run there right now and stock up! I never need an excuse to go, but this gives me a little push!

Re: Trader Joe's Christmas Presents...

I love our Trader Joe's! They have so many neat things to buy as gifts for family and friends. Don't get me wrong I do shop the Q, but with s&h charges and as far a food stuffs I don't see a lot of good opinions on their specialty items to eat. So I buy that locally and Trader Joe's is the best for that along with World Market, which has a lot of imported goodies, especially at holiday times, to choose from. So shopping at the Q isn't always affordable for me most times, I shop locally.

I spent an hour there today checking out all the holiday goodies. I got chocolate covered marshmallows & minty chocolate marshmallows for a friend...$2.99 each for pretty festive boxes.

Then some English toffee, almond windmill cookies and a nice size tray of Italian holiday cookies for another friend.

Frozen lemon bars, pecan pie ice cream and English stilton with cranberries for me!!

I tried one of their Steak and Ale pies for dinner tonight....yum-o!

Sammijo, to me, the TJ's appeal is its large variety of unusual products (the only place I've ever seen Persian cucumbers!) at good prices. I especially love their cheese and wine departments. Plus, it's a fun, happy place to shop.

Thanks, Kati. I'm guessing I have to go back and take a closer look. I was in a hurry and everything just looked so strange! The prepared frozen food area was huge but I didn't see any lemon bars. Again, I have to take my time and take in all the products.

I love all of their fruit flavored Popsicles, their almond coffee cake, nuts, brown rice, meats, etc. We'll be going grocery shopping today and.Trader Joe's is where we'll be.

There's a new box of dark chocolate caramels available. A sampler which comes in a long, thin box of 12. Unusual centers like honey fig, blood orange, etc. I got one for my daughter.

Thanks for posting about this new item-caramel samplers. It's a beautiful package & makes a great gift. Many seasonal items are sold out at our store including the Pomegranate body butter & the hand creams. The french milled soaps is also beautifully packaged & great pricing on all! Picked up some final gifts yesterday.

I went yesterday and got the salted carmels, the marshmellows, a cheescake, some frozen veggies, one of their 1/2 turkey breasts, and some Persecco. Love that store!

Re: Trader Joe's Christmas Presents...

What do you think of their famous Cookie Butter? I've heard it's a cult favorite but I still haven't tried it. What's the appeal?

I see they now have Cookie Butter ice cream and a Cookie Butter cheesecake for the holidays.
