As a pretzel lover & a chocolate lover, eagerly awaited my Landies Candies Chocolate Covered Pretzels, since this was a first time purchase for me. As I took the pkg from the USPS carrier at my front door, I could feel it was very warm to the touch. Our temp in Fort Worth today was 85 degrees at 3pm. Opening the box I found the chocolate was already melting. We are set for next 3 days of 90+ weather. Sure glad I did not order those Lindt Truffles that were tempting me the other day.

@cowtownlady  What a waste! You will be able to get a refund, but I wish the chocolate vendors would differentiate which areas they can ship to and when. Even here in PA, I only get chocolate shipped during the winter months.

Re: Too hot for chocolate

[ Edited ]

@PA Mom-mom,  food shippers of all stripes are in a bind when it comes to the unusual weather the entire country has experienced this year.

The average high in Ft. Worth in March is in the mid 60s not the mid 80s that was experienced.

Here in my area of NC we have been on a roller coaster of temperatures.  In the mid 30s for highs just a couple of days ago and it will be in the low 80s by Sunday.  We should be around 60 during the day.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

I got a shipment of Lindt one year and knew it was going to be a mess.  So I didn't touch the individual pieces and put them right in the freezer.  As soon as they hardened, most were fine.

@Desertdi.  Bless your hearts Arizonians.  I heard it's never before been 100° in Phoenix in March.  Going to make for a long summer.

We had 88° today, 91° predicted for tomorrow.  I was really lucky today in locating a handyman to start up my swamp cooler.  All the AC companies are inundated and you can't get an appointment.   If it gets cold again, my Goose is cooked as I have no heat now.

Monastery Candy will stop sales of chocolates when it reaches certain temps and often all summer. I've purchased from them a few times over the years.

@Desertdi.  Have you ever considered moving to a place with a more temperate climate?  Such a hassle if you own a home but I've always thought the PNW would be nice.   Just think...lots of good, wet rain.
