Tonight's TSV Le Creuset

[ Edited ]

I'm editing this- Sunday 4pm

I hope everyone buying this item receives the LC box. I have a thread about the lack of LC's boxes in my orders, and many customer's orders.

It's a Cassadou, 3 3/4qt Glass Lid. price $219

I won't purchase it.  However, they often offer discounts on a few other items; maybe I'll get one of those. If the price is right, sometimes I'll purchase something for one of my kids, and perhaps myselfCat Very Happy for upcoming birthdays or Holiday gifts.

It takes me to the "Ooops" page, but the glass lid is a big red flag for me.

I suspect the link won't work until midnight.

I already have this size cassadou with the cast iron lide. I love the size and the glass lid doesn't interest me.

I love watching the LC shows and Now You're Cooking Days are my favorite.

I would love to have a glass lid for the one I have.  I mostly use it stove top and would like to see what is cooking--and something not so heavy

I have this one with the glass lid and love it for the reasons you mentioned; can see the food cooking and it's not as heavy, relatively speaking.  Smiley Happy

I didn't consider a glass lid as I don't like storing them. I see the advantage. I mostly do stovetop, and sometimes, taking the cast iron lid off and on is unwieldy.

First thought was hard pass, but I'm going to reconsider a glass lid LC.

I stopped buying long handle cookware, takes up too much room, and I'm always turning the handle out of the way when on the stovetop.

I like having 2 gripping handles, they're better for me with arm strength issues.

I'll find a similar LC with a glass lid w/o the long handle.

I have the Cassadou with the glass lid and like it more than I thought I would.  Not as heavy and awkward as the metal lid and I like being able to see into the pan without lifting the lid.  Don't knock it until you've tried it.

War is not a video game others play to entertain us. “Gamifying” war strips away the humanity of real people and is a profound moral failure.

Can you get a lid that fits from another pan or skillet? I found out a dutch oven pan I have a glass lid for fit my skillet. No relation in company. Some stores sell lids separately. Seems odd for a cast iron pot to cost so much with a glass lid.

Yes. Many do this. I'm going to buy 2 glass for my

5 qt  & 3.5 qt Braisers.

Look at the bottom of the pan for the number, if not buying LC, find the equivalent in inches".

LC, Amazon, Williams Sonoma, Sur la Tab, and numerous sites have glass, Cast Iron, and specialty LC lids. Google, and you'll see what's available.

I will buy 2 glass for my

5 qt  & 3.5 qt Braisers.
