Re: Tiny House Nation: the kitchen

Red Top, as I said, they might work out for some people, but you bought up an interesting point: the laundry.....they show these portable contraptions-and I bought one for our boat-but it's almost useless as far as I am concerned. At the very least I would want a stackable washer/dryer. It is space saving and does the job. When you are living in a tiny house, and virtually all the rooms you have are used for sleeping-with one room dedicated to eating and cooking, how on earth would you wash and dry clothes if you are living in the Rockies? Once again, for some people, they are living their dreams-but there are some things I don't comprehend. Poodlepet

Re: Tiny House Nation: the kitchen

If I ate a donut, DH and I wouldn't fit.

We are looking for houses now. I saw a house online that was 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in 896 sqft!

That's smaller in size than the apartment where we live now!

Re: Tiny House Nation: the kitchen

Micro Homes are the new trend. They are geared toward the urban professionals who are upsizing from a dorm space, I guess.

I want space. I want my own bathroom that will not be shared with DH and 2 teen boys. I want a room where I can do Pilates and look crazy trying to do hundreds. I want a kitchen that will fit a chest freezer large enough to hold my Costco excursion purchases. And I want a garage that will hold everything but my car.
