We don't know the following (which all supermarkets clearly specify):

What USDA Grade of meat are they?

What percent "lean" are they?

According to my calculations, they're selling for about $9.75 per pound.  Answers to the questions would help determine whether or not they're worth the cost.

Has anyone tried these?  I like to have items in the freezer, but these seem kind of pricey.

I have these in my freezer now and we love them.  They provde you with the seasoning just like Kansas City Steaks.  My husband and I think they are better then KS.  I prefer these to the ground chuck I get at grocery store.

You're right, we need to know more.  I buy the 90% angus burger and the $9.75 pricing would only be a couple dollars more - worth it for premade and individually freezer seeled.

Good deal if very lean.  IMHO most of QVC's food items are off the top price wise. But, for angus it's not a bad deal if it's 90% lean.

We also buy 90% lean.  Where we shop, it's generally called "ground round".  It is USDA Choice and it goes for about $6.00/pound.  The store also has a small supply of USDA Prime burgers that are labeled 75% lean (because Prime beef does have more fat and marbeling than Choice).  I forgot the price on those, but at least I know that it is Prime beef.

I just called customer service and asked percentage. It's 85% lean. I always get the 90% from the butcher shop at my market. Do you think there would be much difference in taste?

Re: The Rastelli Burgers

I don't honestly know much about meat but your question made me curious. The TSV burgers are Black Angus certified sirloin which sounds like it's high quality. I read that sirloin is 85% lean, but in the presentation Carolyn said they can legally say that "these burgers have 50% less fat than the best, top notch black label burger sold in your grocery store."

What does that mean and is it even correct? I have no idea, but those steaks they say the beef is ground from look delicious. Of course they should be...$9.75 per pound is pretty pricey. And that's for the 28 count. The 14 count is more like $12.50 per pound (if I'm doing my math correctly). Wow!

Another way to look at it is this--for the 14 count it's about $4 per burger. For the 28 count it's around $3 per burger. That doesn't sound so bad but it is only a 5 oz patty.

I would like to do a side-by-side comparison with the hamburger we get from our local custom kill butcher shop for $5.00/lb., but I just can't bring myself to spend so much for hamburger. Our local grocery store has flat iron steak for $5.99-$6.99/lb. Our family enjoys that more than nearly anything else in the same price range.

I kind of looked at it and it seems decent.  But I do have a number of KC cheddar/bacon burgers in the freezer.

5oz is plenty large.   I couldn't eat more than that on a bet.  Smiley Happy

I realize some do not have big freezers, but this price is outrageous. We buy Angus beef, custom cut, wrapped and frozen for 3.00 a lb. That's 4 burgers for 3.00. The whole half of the steer is 3.00 a lb. Burger, steaks, roasts all the same. And very good.

TSV price is for convenience.
