Never liked Red Velvet. I'm not fond of vinegar. We now use apple cider vinegar in slaw now. Wonderful!!!![]()

@ECBG You can't taste the vinegar in red velvet cake. It is only used so the baking soda can work. It causes it to leaven the cake. There is absolutely no taste to it in the cake. In fact, lemon juice could be used to attain the same result. Anything with high acidity.

I don't care for that boxed Confetti cake mix. Or the canned frosting that goes with it.
I love just about any other cake, unfortunately!

@Nonametoday I know vinegar acted in the levaning. I taught Foods as well as Advanced Foods and put students into 5 star hotels. I could always pick out the difference as well as others preferred Red Velvet over chocolate with the same frosting.
Unfortunately, I couldn't teach my color, clothing, and Interior Design classes all day. I taught the Foods and Nutrition classes the rest of the day.
