I tried to ask this question on the item's page, but the webpage for questions wouldn't load, so I will ask it here--if that's okay
.
Regarding item K84541, which is a Temp-tations ramekin (set of 4 10 0z., no lids, but have handles)--can you potentially add a little water to the inside of the ramekin, and cook an egg in the microwave, with these ramekins? I want to get them for a friend, if so. If this is unwise and might explode the ramekin, I'd like to know that, too. Thanks. Take care, QVC'ers!

@midgeez. People participating here are customers just like you, and are not qualified to give product advice. We'd hate to tell you to go ahead, then have a disaster occur.
Perhaps you could contact Temptations CS for advice. QVC CS can probably give yo7 the phone number.

@midgeez, while I have never used Temp-tations since they are microwave safe and oven safe to 500 degrees I wouldn't hesitate to use them to cook eggs as you described.

Good point, thank you. Sorry about that.

Thank you. How do you usually enjoy your Temp-tations? I have only used them in the oven, myself. Just thought it would be cool to utilize the microwave potential sometime.

@midgeez - It's perfectly fine to ask your question here—many of us have Temp-tations products and have used them in all kinds of ways over the years.
If you're planning to crack the egg into the ramekin and cook it, yes, you can definitely do that; buttering the dish first will help with easier removal at the end. But if you're wondering if you can boil the egg in its shell within the ramekin, I doubt the ramekin would be deep enough for the water to fully cover the egg.
If you had something else in mind, let us know . . . happy to help if we can!

@midgeez - I have used a lot of my Temp-tations pieces in the microwave, and not just for reheating. Virtually any casserole, pasta dish, or potato side that you'd normally bake can be cooked in the microwave (though you won't have a very crunchy topping if that's part of your recipe). Steaming vegetables is quick and easy. You can even make cakes and omelettes in a mug or bowl. I could go on and on—I think people don't consider the microwave as a true cooking/baking tool, but it can do a great job if you use it properly.

@Marp. With a long history of disasters.
@Kachina624, the history of disasters also applies to Pyrex, Anchor Hocking and even Corelle.

@Marp. I haven't read of a single disaster with the brands you mention but if you read Temptations threads you would've read of plenty of disasters with bakeware crazing or cracking with the contents spilling all over a hot oven or the floor. It's not good quality. Many people who've had such experiences now just use it for serving cold food.
