Temp-tations clearance sale

[ Edited ]

It looks like Temp-tations launched another extreme clearance sale today—there are lots of great deals! Just type TEMP-TATIONS in the search bar or navigate to the brand page through the Shop > Kitchen menu and then sort the prices by low to high.

Many of the best deals (not necessarily just the lowest prices) appear to be for items that were being offered on clearance on their website just before they closed it down. Interestingly, some of the sets that previously had two items now have four items for about the same price, so they are true bargains. One impressive offer that I'm very "tempted" by is a set of four of the fantastic cracker trays for just $19.98:

I likely won't give in on this deal because I already have four of the Bee-lieve White trays, but who knows? One or two with some accoutrements would be a lovely gift...

Re: Temp-tations clearance sale

@loriqvc   I might be getting the floral lace summer!  But.....I have four cracker trays.  Patriotic and Garden.  I actually use them for other things.  My office, beauty items, tea bags.  AND I Have an old, old set of floral summer lace!  Hmmmm.  I might have to go search, haha, especially with my $15 credit from the delayed orders.  😉

I have Floral Lace blue and I'm wondering what Summer is.  I've been watching since the beginning and don't remember a Summer.

@luvmybeetle - The Floral Lace Summer was a seasonal pattern for a few years but has been discontinued for awhile now. When Temp-tations still had its website, there were a few random pieces in discontinued patterns that were available there, including a couple in this pattern with shades of teal/blue and shells (you can also see it if you click the link to the cracker trays in my original post):

@luvmybeetle   I know it was many years ago I got a three piece baker set that nests.  I actually think I may have gotten it on the Temptations website years ago.  I have not seen it at the Q for years.  I liked the fresh teal color.

Did anyone see the new Hydrangea pattern?  It's very pretty, but I need none.  😉

Thanks for responding.  All I could think of was a summer design, not Floral Lace.  But if it was long ago, I'm old so I probably forgot.

I did see the Hydrangea, it's very pretty but I don't need more either.

Re: Temp-tations clearance sale

@lynnie61 - Hydrangeas are a particular love for me and my family, so I was excited to see the collection after all the teases . . . but sadly, I think most of the items aren't that impressive. The hammered finish they applied to the dinnerware makes it look cheap rather than elegant, and I'm not a fan of textured dinnerware in general; a smooth surface is much nicer and more user friendly. And all the whimsical applications with bunnies covered in flowers and cutesy little side pieces didn't appeal to me at all.

Hopefully, as Tara brings new items in her special shows over the next few weeks, there will be something just perfect for me or for gifting, but so far I haven't been "tempted" by a single thing.

(As a side note, I can't believe they took the lovely, versatile tone-on-tone Bee-lieve pattern and turned it into a cartoon! I hope it's just a limited-time option and they will still offer the traditional Bee-lieve, but with the popularity of Woodland White and the emergence of Carved Willow White, I'm not holding my breath.)

Re: Temp-tations clearance sale

@loriqvc, thanks for the photo! I have several pieces of the Summer pattern that I use frequently and I think it is delightful year-round. I even have some pieces of Winter, the rolling pin, for one!

I have a LOT of Temp-Tations, going back at least 25 years. I love all of it, old and new, from large serving platters to my beloved Harvest kitchen wall clock. The original Harvest is my all-time favorite pattern and I am still buying Romance and Shamrock. I love Firework, have several pieces, but not so crazy about Patriotic, never a fan of Old World. I have never had a piece break, in the oven or otherwise. I have simply run out of room or I would be updating with some of the new patterns.

My go-to in the beginning, my gateway drug, was Blue Floral Lace, but I always hated the brown rim. It is so much prettier now. And don’t ever try to take my oven mitts! I have four seasonal pairs, don’t know what I would do without them. Just gave some as presents at Xmas.

@loriqvc   I didn't notice the hammered finish on the hydrangea pieces.  I've got many pieces, some of everything.  Fireworks, poinsettia, polka dot and mostly confetti.  I have  a couple of old, old sunflower probably from their first airings 25 years ago.  At the beginning, I got rid of most of those "racks". I get most of it on super clearance prices. (Some based on YOUR posts.  😉)

I've gifted it.  I've only had crazing on a few of the fireworks pieces, so I use those under a few plants.   I did "find" three summer floral lace pieces in my move last year.  My favorite pieces are the elongated bread bowls, ramekins and pie plates, and the cracker trays.  I also have a set of Christmas cracker trays, used every Christmas with a snowman and a penguin.  I do think the older pieces are better quality.
