Anyone ever use these teas? I was at the mall today and stopped in their store. Wonderful exotic teas but super expensive. All loose teas and sold by the ounce.

Teavana teas are wonderful! Many of them can be steeped more than once. I got an email this morning that they are having a big sale now, with 75 percent off some teas. They usually wait until after Christmas to do this, but it's a yearly thing. You might want to check it out online.

Yep, they're great but pricey.

Ah! Tevana! In an effort to better my health, I exchanged coffee to tea. Everyone has read how teas are loaded with antioxidants, so more the better, right? I treated myself to 2 batches...so good! But was sooooo disappointed when I discovered how dirty tea can be.

Unless it's specified 'Organic', tea is one of the most heavily pesticided foods out there. AND manufacturers add natural & artifical flavorings and undescribed 'spices'...much like MSG, these flavorings trick the tastebuds. Deceiving since tea is marketed as 'healthy'.

There ARE good teas out there...just have to look. Look for Organic & no flavorings, no artificial anything and no spices. To my knowledge, Tevana is not Organic...and that's enough for me to not further pursue. Also, if someone is making a corp stand by leaving Starbucks....they also own Tevana.

I'm beginning to drink Hibisicus tea. Just go to the Mexican section of your grocery & look for dried hibiscus flowers. Throw several flowers in a glass of water...makes a beautifully ruby colored drink w/ a hint of flavor....and LOADED with antioxidants. A $1 bag will last several weeks. Just sharing ideas...

Sidsmom, I LOVE hibiscus tea, but organic is hard to find (usually has stevia or other gross additives). What stores have you found it in? I don't think I've ever seen it in the store

I don't like Teavana teas because they taste artificial to me and more like Kool Aid than tea. I much prefer unflavored.

I get tea from Upton Tea and Harney Tea. Both do offer a number of organic selections.

Teavana has plenty of unflavored teas. I like their Golden Monkey black tea.

Use the whole hibiscus flower. It comes in dried form...just throw a couple flowers in water & let it steep to the desired level. Look for the dried flowers in your grocery store in the Mexican food section or go to a local Mexican grocery. I found mine @ the 99 Cents Only store. As for stevia, there ARE stevia brands without additives. I found mine @ Whole Foods. If you have a bitter aftertaste...just use a bitty amount. Or train your buds to drink it plain. It's all good!

This is what most packages look like...next to the dried chilies, etc. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Lupicia has excellent teas, they can be ordered on line. I am not a fan of Teavana. I do not care for teas with flavorings added.

The Cultured Cup carries Mariage Freres tea from Paris - very high quality and delicious.
