Talking Pressure Cooker Question

I just did the water test again so I could be sure I am putting the lid on right, after that cycle was over and it switched to the heat cycle or warm cycle, it started beeping and would beep every minutes or less, will it finally stop beeping? I finally got tired of hearing it and just unplugged it.
