Nothing better than the smell of apples and cinnamon!

When I make apple cake or pies, I put the apple peelings in a pot with a cinnamon stick and water for an awesome  potpourri as it simmers on the stove!

@KingstonsMom , What a good idea !

@eddyandme

I'd like her apple bread recipe too!

I have an awesome apple cake recipe from one of our longstanding members of the recipe forum here, if you're interested!

Our local store had whole roasting chickens on sale so I decided (sick of buying the Sam's Club ones) to make a big fat 8 lb. complete with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes and stuffing!

Eventhough its 86 degrees here today -- I was in the mood for something "comforting" vs. grilled stuff.  Boy, my house smells great BUT wouldn't mind having the good smells of apple breads too.

@QVCkitty1 Sounds delicious...I didn't make the pumpkin bread yesterday as the get together was cancelled - boo hoo

It must be that kind of a weekend -- Just made apple cinnamon bundt cake and poured cooked caramel apples in the middle of the cake. House smells great. Waiting for guys to come home from fishing trip - 70s and sunshine today.

I made pumpkin apple bread yesterday and have somehow managed to not eat the entire loaf yet, so the spicy sweet aroma lingers in the kitchen. It's very comforting, especially with temperatures diving into the 40s for the high today and a heavy dusting of snow on the lawn.

Made my own applesauce.  I do not peel the apples first.  Added brown sugar and cinammon.  Haven't made this for years and I have no idea why.  It's easy and delicious!

I made an apple pie today and 1 loaf of pumpkin apple bread.  My house smells good too.

I bought half a bushel of apples at market in Friday for only $8...mixed variety.  Now I have to use them.

My kids are coming home with their families tonight for dinner.  They have requested fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, corn and gravy.

I have my doors and windows open.  My house is hot from all of the baking.

I got it from the foodnetwork.com.  I used honeycrisp apples.  Did not like them as eating apples but made a great sauce!
