Sweet Endings Cake I ordered

I purchased the SE Florida Orange cake and it's been "in process" for a week now. Anyone know why it's taking so long?

Re: Sweet Endings Cake I ordered

The video posted for the last show says they are retiring the orange and coconut cakes. This may be the reason for the delay. I would call QVC and ask for an update.

Good luck!

Re: Sweet Endings Cake I ordered

I seriously doubt she'd be retiring those particular cakes. The Florida Orange Sunshine and Coconut Cream cakes have been signature cakes since the business started. The orange was DH's & his birthday 'twin's birthday cake since 1999, and mine has been the coconut. The orange is also my DS & DGS's birthday cake in mid July. I have one of the smaller ones shipped to CA for them. They generally have at least 12-15 people for their joint birthday, and the cake is more than enough.

Prefer the Q version though, as it's a much smaller cake. The ones direct from the bakery are 5 layers, 8 pounds and serve a small army. We've easily served 30+ with it. The Q ones are 3 layers and 4¾ or 5½ pounds and can easily serve 16 -20.

If you ever opt to order the large 8# cake direct, tell them NOT to pre-slice it. If it's sliced, it's in 14 gigantic portions. If you don't cut into normal slices, you get MANY more. We slice across into four sections, then slice each of those into 8 - 10 pieces. You can also slice the same way you do a wedding cake. Each person still gets plenty of frosting.

DGD in CA wants the orange one for her wedding cake in February.

According to the video, the cakes that were being retired were the ones on air at that time. The vendor said the cakes were just too big. She hated to see them go because they were the original flavors etc.... So, unfortunately, they are being retired. I'm sure the poster will get her order, but it is probably a slower process because they have probably reduced their original production numbers.

the larger cakes are retired but they are selling the same cake in a smaller size. I have the florida orange now and I love it. But my favorite is the grandma mollys lemon one. These cakes are worth every penny. I am going to try the citrus one next. Hope you have your cake by now!

Re: Sweet Endings Cake I ordered

I'm seriously considering ordering the lemon or orange one for my birthday in July. I keep thinking it would be strange for me to bring my own cake to my birthday party. It's just family, though, so it probably doesn't matter. Are they just fabulous? They're so expensive, which is why I've hesitated.

Which one is better? Florida Orange, Lemon Cake or Citrus Bliss?

Your cake Is growing mold and getting old as it ""processes"". QVC needs to take lessons from Amazon where the customer comes first.

NickNack - If you like lemon I would get the grandma molly's lemon. My birthday is in October and I am telling my kids that is the cake I want. I have not tried the citrus one but I have tried the orange. That one is good also but like I said I prefer the lemon!

Yes, I did get the cake and it was delicious! The SE cakes are pricey and I only indulge on it occasionally. I've also had the lemon cake and it was good too. Haven't tried the citrus one yet.
