Superb New Manual Single Serve Coffee System

After 5+ years with Keurig machines both Keurig and Cuisinart, I decided to go the manual route so I purchased a new manual device that in addition to working with pods and my own grind, also works fabulously with the K Cups themselves.

After returning my Capresso burr grinder to BB&B, I spent less than $8 more and purchased the multi temp Cuisinart water kettle and then ordered the Cafejo from Amazon.

The Cuisinart kettle heats water for both tea and coffee from 160-212 and it will maintain the 1.75 liter container of water at virtually the exact temperature it is set at. I chose to brew my coffee at about 204F and that is achieved by starting at 212 and by the time the cafejo container is filled and the press is placed, the coffee starts expressing at close to 203F which is perfect and finishes at about 200F.

Using the hot chocolate k cups, I heat my milk in the microwave and then pour it into the cafejo and express the wonderful rich hot chocolate that is miles above simply brewing the hot cocoa K Cup in the Keurig.

Basically I have semi-officially retired my Keurig machines as the brew is fantastic with this device. Since I love strong coffee if it is a weaker brew (lighter), I simply run the brewed coffee through the cafejo again where you normally place the water.

Needless to say, this simple device which has achieved the gold standard of coffee brewing, is now my choice for both my K Cups (coffee and hot cocoa) and my loose coffee.
