@shopped out Mary did not stuff her face and eat everything. She bit into 2 chicken wings to taste them and sampled a spoon full of one ice cream and tasted the strawberry cone and then put it down. All part of her job. You make it sound like she ate a complete thanksgiving dinner.

Threads like this go downhill fast because people stop discussing the topic and start attacking each other. The way some replies are talking to the OP is unnecessary and mean‑spirited.

I don't know who "she" is since you give no clue @shopped out . However, gourmet food shows are some of my favorites. I watch frequently. I have to say, if you plan on watching you will see all the hosts sample every product. I don't mind it, I expect it.

I disagree @manny2 and @Teddie . I feel the replies are justified as it is the norm for hosts to eat the food and they have no control in which order it is presented. I commend them as there must be times when they really don't like a specific food but are asked to try it AND act like they love it. None of the responses came across as mean-spirited in my opinion. In fact, if anything is "unnecessary", it is the OP's.
