Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Oceantown, I forgot all about clicking on the latest post.  I know someone had shared that before, but I forgot.  Thanks for the reminder.

When do you expect your bowls to arrive?  Was it Thursday of this week?  I think at some point in time I'm going to get some more flamingo pieces.  I didn't think I liked it that well when I got the fruit bowl, but it does go with a lot of the other colors.  I do think these last two colors are more "masculine" and I wonder why they introduced both at the same time---probably because black was being retired.

When I went into town today, there was a lot of water sitting in this one field and it had been there so long algae was growing on the top.  Needless to say, those crops are not going to produce anything.

The flooded waters are just sitting there because the ground is so saturaed.

Well, I'm just finishing up steam mopping the vinyl floors and still have the bathroom to do, so I'd better sign off.

Hi, Wismiss,
You are so welcome!

My heart bowls are estimated for this Thursday. Yipee!

I really love flamingo. It does go with many of the other colors. I especially love it with turquoise.

I agree, with black retired, now they have slate. I think I would prefer slate to black. But, I don't have any dark colors.

That is so sad about the crops in your area being under water. Smiley Sad

Take care!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Finally, my Kohls order came.  Everything was very well wrapped.  Unfortunately, the Sage bowl had slashes on it as if a box knife had cut into it so it will need to go back.  I just hate that.

Ocean

Signed in or not , I get The first post from January 1st.  I have to hit page 1, then I get to recent posts

Meezer

I hate it when I get a flawed piece.  Sometimes it is hard by mail, because I receive another flawed piece in exchange sometimes!

wismiss have you tried baking an egg in an avacado half?  it is to die for!  Maybe it is a California thing?

here is a link!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Well, now I want an avocado for lunch Smiley Happy

Still no jam jars for me! I need to call Kohl's customer service, but have been busy trying to enjoy the time with my daughter home. I work at home too, so in between working and fun times, I haven't had a chance for anything else!

I love those heart bowls!! I hope to have several some day. Maybe after jam jars!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Jenn27--I hope that you can get the jam jars that you want.  I think that once HL gets their production of the new colors and pieces under control, the rest of their product line will begin to flow more consistantly.

Speaking of production flow, did you ladies see the notice that HL put on FB ( I think) about a fire at their Hall plant?  One of 3 pieces of equipment has been destroyed.  I know that when HL bought Hall, they continued to make some of Hall's items but they had also moved some of their Fiesta production to Hall as well.  They didn't say in the article if Fiesta was involved only that no one was injured and that the remaining  2 pieces of equipement will take up the slack.  Glad no one was hurt.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hi Shoekitty--You are very funny.  You find the best pictures to post. Cats are so clever.

The first thing that I noticed when I read your posts was that my last post had been removed.  I had posted the notice from HL's FB page with the details from the fire at the Hall plant which they now own.  It didn't say if the equipment was being used for Fiesta production but then why post the information on the Fiesta site.

I got an e-mail and I suppose that you did as well, from HL saying that the new pieces were now available.  The only thing that was a surprise was that the Omni trays have added a new color palette called "Neutrals" which includes Slate and Sage.  I would add a picture but I this site won't let you cut and paste anymore so I can't do that.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hi, everyone,

Meezer, thanks for mentioning the neutral omni tray set.  I had to take a look and I like it.  I got an email today from HL, but it was from the Always Festive website.  I think the email you mentioned was different.

Sorry your sage bowl was cut!

Yes, I saw that about the fire at the Hall plant.  How scary, and glad they got it under control and no one was hurt.

Shoekitty, your photos are so much fun!

I checked out that avocado with baked egg recipe.  Oh, thanks so much for posting that one.  I really want to try it sometime.

Last time I was at the store, I stopped and took a look at the avocados.  I could not make up my mind.  I think they were a little over-ripe.  Ugh.  I hope I can choose a good one sometime soon.  It is so frustrating to cut into one and it has those black areas and it is bad.

Jenn, good luck on the jam jars.  I know how it is hard to find a block of time for something like that.

I got my fed ex pkg yesterday from Macy's!  It arrived early, which is good because we left shortly after to drive to visit my in-laws.  That is over a 2 hour drive.  Nice visit and a couple other stops including costco, so it was a full day.

Anyway, I was so excited to see my ivory heart bowls.  They looked soooo pretty, but then I turned one over and noticed on the side there is a dark colored spot, about 1/8 inch wide.  Wow.  I have never seen a flaw like that.

The box was packed well, although it was not totally filled with packing material.  So the bowls could move around in there.  The box was huge for two heart bowls.

So, this morning I called customer service, and they will be emailing me a return label and will be sending me another ivory heart bowl.  He was perfectly nice, but it did take about 30 minutes on the phone.

I am kind of surprised they want this back.  I can't imagine anyone would accept it, but maybe they will return to HL.  ???

You all take care!
