Oddly on a whim I  just picked up a package of steak burgers from a local grocery store already in patty form.  I grilled out over charcoal and it was great tasting and cooked up nicely on the grill.  I need to get them from now on.

@giddy up

I recently read there was a recall on frozen processed pre-formed hamburger patties.   I think it was from Costco.   E-coli  found in the raw meat.   Smiley Sad

What kind and cut of beef in your frozen patties?

Were they juicy, with not much shrinkage?

So, where was your hamburger patties purchased?

Enjoy your burgers.

We made steakburgers using 1 lb chuck roast + 1 lb top sirloin. It made 6 burgers. They sure were good. It's the only way I want to eat a hamburger now besides 5 Guys.

I used my KitchenAid meat grinder attachment. Ran a few slices of stale bread thru it to clean out the meat. It works.

I made pot roast with the leftover chuck roast yesterday. Yum!!!

Have you ever ground your own meat for burgers?

@Nightowlz
 Do you know what kind of meat 5 Guys use?

FWIW, I grind American Kobe to make my burgers, meatballs, and meatloaf.  Delicious!   Smiley Happy

@EatWell I don't know what kind of meat 5 Guys uses. I don't eat them often. We pretty much cook at home. Found this online about 5 Guys.

"Five Guys uses 80/20 ground chuck-high quality ground beef containing only steer and heifer meat, which does not include any cow meat or fatty trimmings. We do not use ammoniated procedures to treat our ground beef. This means that there is NO "pink slime" in our burgers. Our beef comes from the percentage of companies that do NOT use these methods." You never know what any of these places put in the food.
