This week I purchased an 12oz bag of Starbucks HouseBlend beans from Walmart for about $7 and I made a great cup of coffee using a digital scale, Cuisinart Burr Grinder, and the NEW Solofill available at Amazon.

I weighed out 9 grams of the beans and then using the Cuisinart Burr Grinder with the setting 8 lines from the right, I ground the beans. I then filled the Solofill up to the fill line and brewed an 8oz cup of coffee that was excellent and as good or better than any french press I have used.

One thing that may impact results slightly is that I used the Cuisinart SingleServe Silent brew machine (I have 2 Platinums) which I prefer over the Keurig offerings and my review seems to mimic that of Hammacher Schlemmer, yet I am sure the Keurig machines should do well.

Using this process, you should be able to get about 38 cups of excellent Starbucks Blend brew and if you prefer coffee weaker, you will be able to get more than 50 10oz cups.

Curiously enough most coffee brewing instructions will say use about 10 grams of beans per cup, but they ground to way more than what the Solofill or even my Ekobrew could hold so I cut it down to 9 grams and still that was more than sufficient for a 6 oz cup and will work well for many who like a weaker 10oz.

Of course there is nothing like fresh ground coffee (no matter what K Cups are available) and perhaps you will have as good results as I did and be able to save money in the process (with the tradeoff of a little more work).
