Re: Splatter proof microwave covers

I use one I bought at Walmart several years ago.  Its plastic and has never blown off during cooking.

I use a piece of plastic wrap that I either vent or poke holes in.

I never use anything with it's own lid or cover still on it.

I use a collapsible plate/dish cover in the microwave. I rise it after every use and put it back in the microwave.

I also use vented Sistema bowls in the microwave.

Those sistema bowls look nice.

That shouldn't happen if the container is properly vented. Are you loosening the lid before cooking?

If you do want covers, I recommend the Nordic Ware covers. I have two sizes to fit over different containers and plates. Got them from Walmart.

Re: Splatter proof microwave covers

I'd rather not use plastic covers when reheating items as they tend to warp.  I never had any blow off.  I usually cover the bowl with a plate and that works well.

I use the plastic covers and have never had one blow off or warp.  I've heard you shouldn't use plastic wrap because of the chemicals in it.

I use paper towels.

Then I leave the door open, or wipe the moisture out, so it does not prematurely rust the oven.
