As many of you know I have been on here asking for ideas for my kitchen - no problem getting it done before Christmas per designer!!!!!! She kept telling me we need to get cabinets ordered though - well everytime I tried to schedule an appt she was busy. Originally she gave me a quote (range of $4,000) and it was within what we wanted to spend. Told her upfront what all we wanted - she came to the house, measured and drew something up and made quote from that. Well she came out Thursday and was supposed to have final figure - she didn't but emailed me yesterday. The quote was only for cabinets, countertops pretty much. She didn't have the figures yet for plumbing, electrical work, flooring (which I knew that wasn't in original quote), demo, painting - no mention of back splash so that is even more. The quote is already higher than the high point from original quote. The other company I had gotten a quote from was $3,000 higher but most of this stuff was included in theirs. Plus she isn't positive it will be done before Christmas.

Have no clue what to do - too late to go with other company for Christmas deadline. This company I'm so afraid we will be in the middle of remodeling right at Christmas GGGGGGRRRRRRR - furious.

We will do kitchen but think I may have to put on hold and think I'll locate someone else to get a quote. I am crushed!!!

Sorry to vent but I have been so excited - one big decision Ihaven't made yet is quartz vs. laminate ($5,000) difference. Do you like your laminate if you have it or do you wish now you would have spent extra for quartz.
