Small Deep Fryer?

[ Edited ]

Anybody have Ming Tsai's deep fryer?  I have his new Air Fryer and really like it.  It's small, but it works for me and my husband.  Sometimes, though, air frying just doesn't work, like for wet batters and drop batters.

I want something for small batches.  The basket for his looks to be for small batches, but the description says large 3 quart capacity.  I'm assuming that's the amount of oil it uses, not the capacity of the basket.  I really like that you can put everything except the heating element in the dishwasher.  Does anybody know or can recommend something? Thanks.

@Icegoddess DH does not like okra fried in the air fryer. He still uses his Presto 05470 SS Electric Deep Fryer from Amazon for about $24. It's oil capacity is 1.1 qt. They also have it at Target for the same price with free shipping.

Thanks Nightglowz.  I tried fried okra in the air fryer too.  I thought maybe it was because I didn't use enough oil since some of it got brown, but some didn't.  I froze it before using it in the air fryer.  I'm going to try again making sure I coat it rather than spritzing it before I make a final judgement on it.  I think blindfolded I would've been just fine with it.  I soak in buttermilk and then bread with a mixture of flour and cornmeal.  I do love Ming's air fryer.  I have yet to have to do more than a damp sponge to clean it.

@Icegoddess When DH made some okra in the Air Fryer he only lightly misted it with olive oil. I told him it would probably turn out better if he tossed it in some olive oil so it was coated better since it's so dry. He also breads some & freezes it straight from the garden. He has not tired it again.
