I just received this also, have done rice twice and used my usual recipe, depending on the type of rice I'm cooking.

I have some sistema but I have not made rice in it.

I use Uncle Bens converted long grain rice. I follow the directions on the box. I use 2-1/2 cups rice and 1 cup water with a pinch of salt. After 20 minutes, I lift the cover and check for moisture. If the rice is coming along and the water is pretty well absorbed, I just stir the rice, add a small amount of water and replace the cover, turn the burner down to low. Give it 15 more minutes. If the rice is too wet, just stir and let it cook for another 10 minutes. Check it again for doneness.

Good luck with yours. BTW how do you use your sistema? Can you give me any tips?
