It looks like it would break off. I am waiting for the iCafe by iCoffee that steams and foam the milk. Their site said it was due out last fall, but it wasn't released. I emailed them about it. They said it doesn't have a release date yet. Boo Hoo! I might give in and get an independent milk heater/frother.

I'm not worried about it breaking off as I think it's very sturdy and well built.  If you want something that is also going to heat and froth both you'd be happier with something else.  Since I rarely use the frother it's not an issue for me.  I was happy to get something that was contained in one machine as I don't have room on my counter for lots of things.  The iCafe sounds like it might be really nice if it does everything with one machine.
